FarmVille 2 Seeds are used to plant crops. In order to grow anything, seeds must be purchased from the General Store. A farmer may only plant a seed on a plowed plot - any land he or she wishes to plant must be plowed. Plowing however is free.
If not harvested in time crops will wither. The amount of time before a crop starts withering is around 3 entire reallife days. Plots with withered crops can be plowed and re-planted or 
Unwither can be used.
Fertilizer can be applied on the crop while it is growing or before anything is planted. Once fully grown, fertilized crops produce twice the yield and with a 10% chance that a prized crop will appear which give extra Mastery Points, 
Coins and 
XP. The amount of higher mastery crops varies and is increased once a player has reached yellow mastery, red mastery and maximizes at blue mastery level. Beside mastery points the player is also granted notext Coins and 
XP for prized crops.
Smart tips for maximum effectiveness[]
- The most cost effective seed for making feed is the
Strawberry, which costs only 18 Coins for 10 Feed. - Fastest Feed maker is Blueberry, which can generate fruits to make 2 Feed in just 2 minutes. Blueberry wins this over Tomato due to relative better cost effectiveness and double the feed which tomato generates.
- Many quests require Wheat or Rye to be produced or used in recipes in the kitchen. Best is to use neighbors to harvest this as quickly as possible, and use Fertilizer to minimize costs. Having a stock of both is smart to be able to pass these quests quickly.

Neighbour Actions and Farmhands[]
When a neighbour visits and clicks on a plot/crop, the following actions will be performed only when you activate the neighbour.
- Empty plot --> Fertilized plot
- Unwatered seeds --> Watered growing crop
- Growing crop --> Fertilized crop
- Fertilized crop --> Instant Grow
- Fully grown crop --> Harvesting
When a Neighbour agrees to help you on request (seeing the neighbour character on a haybale outside your farm) that is also called a farmhand which can be used on a group of 4 plots. The farmhand can only perform one type of action. Note that farmhands cannot be applied on empty plots. Fertilizing is also not possible this way.
- Unwatered seeds --> Watered growing crop
- Growing crop --> Fertilized crop --> Instant Grow
- Fully grown crop --> Harvesting
