The Chinchilla Derby is a racing minigame that starts March 8th, 2016 to March 28th.
Building[]
The unbuilt starting gate appears between the Market Stand and the hay bales where the farmhands sit. The materials needed to build the gate are:
- 3 - 10 Chinchilla Flags (Post)
- 3 - 10 Green Paint (Ask)
- 3 - 10 Chinchilla Posts (Ask)
Amount of materials may vary. Each item can be bought for 2 
Farmbucks each. After all materials are gathered, at least 2 Neighbors are needed to complete the building. However, players will not be able to host the races until they have at least 2 Chinchillas on their farm. Player can also buy the complete gate for 17 - 52 Farmbucks.
The Game[]
Once the gate is built, and the player has two adult Chinchilla on their farm, players must feed their Chinchilla 29 times, and invite at least 2 Neighbors. Once these requirements are met, a purple teardrop will appear above the starting gate. Players must then choose a winner from five Chinchillas. After this, a cutscene will play showing the Chinchillas running around the track.
Players are rewarded 
Coins depending on what place their Chinchillas came in. The prizes are:
In addition, players are rewarded for hosting a race, no matter what place their Chinchillas came in:
- 1st race: 1 Chinchilla Racing Flag (a decoration)
- 2nd race: 25
Feed - 3rd race: 2 Super Feed
- 4th race: 1 Baby Bottle
- 5th race: 1 Baby Bottle, baby Visayan Spotted Deer, 10 Favors
